SLP
As long ago as 1972 Lars Hedlund, the owner and founder of the company Swedish Lorry Parts AB, started the development of drawings and production of spare parts with the help of Swedish subcontractors of automotive industry instead of just selling them. He was the first one to create a spare parts replacement program suitable for:
- Volvo passenger cars 1974;
- Volvo Penta engines and drives 1987;
- Volvo trucks and buses 1993;
- Volvo construction equipment 2004.
Then in 1991 passenger cars and marine vehicles sectors were sold and the focus was put on the truck spare parts. All the investments into the equipment were made to ensure the appropriate level of quality.
He also opened a rubber parts manufacturing factory Botkyrka Gummifabrik AB in 1996 and started supplying items for SLP and such customers as Alfa Laval.
Quality has always been one of the most important business components of SLP. SLP spare parts are of the same quality as the original spare parts.
SLP has its own test programs where the new products are tested before they reach the market.
But the quality means even more:
personal contact, administrative systems and communication.
Each SLP part is stamped that shows its high quality and proves the fact that the spare part is produced by the company.
