  The history of DELCO REMY starts in 1896. Initially there was a small business on the factory Remy Electric (Indiana, USA) which produced electric cables. The company got a push for its development after creating a magneto, which was very popular in the growing automotive industry.  In 1916 the company joins United Motors Corporation and, after joining later General Motors, starts the production of automatic starters, ignition distributors, generators and electric wipers. Today the independent transnational company REMY INTERNATIONAL INC is in the top 10 leading enterprises in the state.
