Russian LCV Market Grew by 28,4% in July

Sales of light commercial vehicles in Russia grow for seven months in succession – at the end of July by 28,4% up to 12103 units. By reckoning of agency  «AUTOSTAT», Russian LCV market grew by 24,1% within seven months and made up 69863 vehicles. Upon that two thirds (66%) of LCV sales in Russia are made by LCV of domestic brands (GAZ and UAZ), the other 34% go to foreign brand vehicles. According to expert opinion, growth of LCV sales is stipulated on the one hand by a «low base» effect (last year the LCV market dropped by 50,7%), on the other hand – by renewal of the Russian economy and improvement of figures in industrial and consumer spheres in particular. GAZ still takes leading positions on the Russian LCV market following the results of July –6198 vehicles of this Russian trade mark were sold last month (+20%), having kept 51,2% of the market. A second place belongs to UAZ, which increased realization of LCV by 39,9% up to 1671 pcs. Peugeot reached a third place with its rate of 1175 sold LCV, which is almost twice as much as the last year rate (by 97,5%). Thus, Fiat dropped to a fourth place – its result was 1089 vehicles – 66,8% more than last year. As usual Volkswagen closes the top «five», having sold 590 LCV (+68,6%).
