Russian aftermarket grew by 24% in the first half of 2010
According to the data of last investigation carried out by the analytic agency "Autostat", Russian aftermarket grew by 24% in the first half of 2010.
The analysts state that for the first 6 months of the current year 1,91 mln of used passenger cars were re-registered.
For the same period last year the corresponding figure was 1,54 mln. pieces.
As explained by Sergey Tselikov, Director of "AUTOSTAT" agency, there is a significant growth of aftermarket of foreign made cars (+45,1%).
At the same time the growth of volume of domestic cars resale was only 5,3%. This led to the change of the entire market structure in favor of foreign models.
Thus, if in the first half of 2009 their market share was 46,9%, at present moment the share of foreign cars makes 54,8%.
The analysts admit that in spite of the decrease of market share from 45,7% to 39,8%, Tolyatti LADA remains an unquestionable leader on the market of used cars.
The nearest competitor - Japanese Toyota - which has a bit more than 12% of the market lags behind in terms of resale more than trice.
For a period of 6 months in 2010 760 thousand Ladas and only 230 thousand Toyotas were reregistered.
And more than a half - behind the Urals.
The third place of the rating is occupied by Nissan (89,3 thousand pieces).
In the top ten most popular foreign cars are also Mitsubishi (59369 pcs.), Honda (59118 pcs.), Ford (55549 pcs.), Hyundai (53544 pcs.), Volkswagen (49062 pcs.), Chevrolet (45386 pcs.) and Mazda (40449 pcs.).
