Share of Foreign Made Cars in Russian Automotive Industry Grew to 53,2%
53,2% of the total volume of car production fell to the share of foreign made cars in the first half of 2010. According to the ÀSM Holding 260,2 K foreign made cars were assembled in the territory of Russia within six months, taking into account the total volume of production 489,1 K cars. We would remind you that following the results of 2009 only 46,8% of the total volume of production fell to the share of foreign made cars, and in 2008 their share was even smaller – 40,3%.
According to the forecast of "AUTOSTAT" Analytics Department Russian enterprises shall produce about 1 mln cars in the current year. This result will exceed the last year production volume (595,8 K pcs) by two thirds, but at the same time will be lower than the rate of 2008 (1,47 mln pcs) by one third. Experts admit that the share of foreign made vehicles in the truck segment of automotive industry according to the January - June 2010 results was 9,9%, and in the bus segment – 13,7%.
