NGK Spark Plug Europe Opens Liaison Office in Turkey
NGK Spark Plug Europe has opened a Liaison Office in Istanbul. With this step, the renowned manufacturer of spark plugs, glow plugs and Lambda sensors has considerably increased its presence in Turkey. The country on the Bosphorus is already an important business market.
More then 71 million people live in Turkey, the average age being around 27. Motorisation is comparably low and the growth potential within the automobile segment remains promising. It is for such reasons that international car manufacturers have set up joint ventures like Ford Otosan, Oyak Renault, the Tofas (Fiat), Toyota, Hyundai-Assan or Honda Türkiye in recent years.
In this business environment, the new Liaison Office of NGK Spark Plug Europe will coordinate supplies to the local Aftermarket. It is headed by Ugur Karabiyik. Over the past 5 years, before taking up his new position, the 41-year-old was responsible for customer support in Eastern Europe and Central Asia – including Turkey – as Area Representative at the NGK Headquarters in Ratingen.
